Cryptocurrency Market

Bitcoin (BTC): $81,475 — down approximately 1.9% since October 11

Bitcoin traded above $84,000 during the week before retreating toward $81,500. The decline was relatively modest compared with the technology-heavy Nasdaq and several major altcoins.

Bitcoin remains near its 50-day moving average, making the $80,000–$82,000 area particularly important. A sustained recovery above $85,000 would improve the technical picture, while weakness below $80,000 could introduce additional selling pressure.

Ethereum (ETH): $2,433 — down approximately 2.8%

Ethereum continued to weaken despite expanding institutional interest in stablecoins, tokenization, and blockchain settlement.

The price remains below its approximate 50-day moving average of $2,600, suggesting that investors have not yet regained confidence in the near-term trend.

I am watching $2,400 as immediate support and $2,600 as the first significant recovery target.

Solana (SOL): $104.55 — down approximately 4.6%

Solana experienced another difficult week, trading near the lower end of its recent monthly range.

The network continues to develop institutional settlement, tokenized securities, and payment applications. However, stronger network adoption has not yet translated into sustained buying of SOL.

The $100 level is an important psychological reference. A recovery above $110–$120 would provide evidence of improving momentum.

XRP: $1.31 — down approximately 5.8%

XRP weakened along with the broader altcoin market. The project’s exposure to cross-border payments and financial settlement remains a longer-term investment theme, but recent price action suggests caution.

I am watching $1.25–$1.30 for support and $1.40–$1.50 for resistance.

BNB: $720.28 — down approximately 3.8%

BNB declined as capital continued to rotate away from more speculative cryptocurrency exposure.

Trading activity, decentralized applications, and ecosystem development remain important factors in BNB’s long-term outlook.

I would look for stabilization above $700 before considering a meaningful recovery toward $750–$800.

Cardano (ADA): $0.2229 — down approximately 9.9%

Cardano reversed last week’s relative strength and experienced one of the larger declines among our regularly tracked assets.

The token is trading below its approximate 50-day moving average, with momentum remaining weak.

The immediate levels to watch are $0.21–$0.22 for support and $0.24–$0.25 for resistance.

Dogecoin (DOGE): $0.0803 — down approximately 5.8%

Dogecoin remains under pressure as speculative demand and liquidity weaken.

Unlike networks with substantial institutional settlement or financial infrastructure activity, Dogecoin remains particularly sensitive to market sentiment.

I am watching $0.075–$0.08 as the downside reference and $0.09 as an initial recovery objective.

Hyperliquid (HYPE): approximately $79.80 — down approximately 6.4%

Hyperliquid weakened as investors reduced exposure to decentralized trading platforms and other higher-volatility digital assets.

The platform continues to attract interest in perpetual futures and markets linked to traditional financial assets. However, activity involving synthetic or indicative assets should not be confused with ownership of the underlying securities.

My focus remains on sustainable trading volumes, fee generation, liquidity, and how these translate into demand for HYPE.

The immediate price references are $75–$80 on the downside and $85–$90 on the upside.

Key Market Drivers

1. Inflation increased more than expected

September’s Consumer Price Index increased 3.7% year over year, compared with 3.4% in August. Monthly inflation rose 0.6%, driven substantially by energy costs.

Producer prices were even more concerning, increasing 1.3% for the month and 6.3% annually.

Persistent inflation creates uncertainty over future Federal Reserve interest-rate decisions and reduces the attractiveness of speculative investments.

2. Institutional cryptocurrency fund flows weakened

U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds experienced net outflows during the week.

Bitcoin products saw roughly $225 million in net redemptions, while Ethereum products experienced approximately $320 million in withdrawals, based on the weekly fund-flow compilation.

These outflows help explain why Bitcoin struggled to sustain its recovery above $84,000.

I would prefer to see several consecutive sessions of positive institutional flows before becoming more aggressive.

3. Technology-stock weakness affected crypto sentiment

The Nasdaq declined approximately 4.5% for the week, its worst weekly performance since June.

Concerns surrounding the financing and profitability of artificial intelligence infrastructure investments contributed to the selloff.

Cryptocurrencies are not identical to technology stocks, but both can be affected by tightening liquidity, risk aversion, and changes in investor expectations.

4. Bitcoin continues to outperform several major altcoins

Although Bitcoin declined, its losses were smaller than those experienced by Solana, Cardano, XRP, and Dogecoin.

This reinforces my preference for maintaining Bitcoin as the principal cryptocurrency exposure while waiting for stronger confirmation across the larger altcoin market.

5. Stablecoins and tokenization remain important institutional growth areas

The expansion of regulated custody, tokenized securities, and digital-dollar payments continues despite softer token prices.

These developments represent actual financial infrastructure investment rather than simply speculative blockchain projects.

However, the benefits to individual cryptocurrencies will depend on transaction fees, network usage, token economics, and whether institutions adopt public or private blockchain infrastructure.

Emerging Crypto Projects & Ecosystem News

Deutsche Bank prepares cryptocurrency custody services

On October 16, Deutsche Bank disclosed preparations to launch digital asset custody services in Germany within the coming weeks.

The initial services are expected to support Bitcoin and Ethereum, with plans to expand into stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and digital securities.

Expansion into Asian financial centers is also being considered for 2027.

This represents another significant step toward integrating cryptocurrency services into traditional banking.

Charles Schwab expands direct cryptocurrency access

Charles Schwab has made its direct cryptocurrency trading service available to eligible retail clients in supported U.S. jurisdictions.

Customers can purchase and sell Bitcoin and Ethereum through Schwab Crypto accounts, subject to eligibility requirements and transaction fees.

The significance is straightforward: mainstream brokerage platforms are increasingly incorporating digital assets into their existing investment offerings.

Circle plans expansion into approximately 40 additional markets

Circle announced plans to expand its stablecoin business into approximately 40 emerging and developing markets.

The company is targeting regions where digital-dollar payments and cross-border settlement can address existing financial infrastructure limitations.

Circle’s expansion, together with the continued development of USDC settlement applications, reinforces stablecoins as one of the most commercially important areas of blockchain adoption.

Kraken’s parent company moves into European banking

Payward, the parent company of Kraken, is pursuing the acquisition of Lithuania-based Saldo Bank.

The proposed acquisition would combine traditional banking capabilities with cryptocurrency, digital assets, lending, and payment services.

The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval.

This is another example of cryptocurrency businesses evolving toward integrated financial institutions rather than operating exclusively as trading platforms.

Tokenized securities encounter corporate resistance

An important development emerged this week as several public companies objected to plans by OKXICE to trade tokenized versions of their shares.

Companies including Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth, and CoreWeave raised objections under the applicable regulatory framework.

The issue is not whether blockchain can represent ownership of financial assets. The challenge is ensuring proper shareholder rights, market transparency, liquidity, custody, and issuer acceptance.

This is a useful reminder that technological capability does not automatically create a commercially acceptable market.

Hyperliquid continues experimenting with synthetic financial markets

Trading linked to an indicative valuation of Anthropic attracted attention on Hyperliquid this week.

Such instruments can provide speculative exposure to market expectations, but they do not necessarily represent equity ownership or rights in the underlying company.

The development demonstrates both the flexibility and the risks of decentralized financial markets.

For investors, the distinction between an actual security, a tokenized entitlement, and a synthetic derivative is essential.

Market Sentiment & Outlook

The cryptocurrency market remains in a corrective phase, but I do not view the recent weakness as evidence that institutional blockchain adoption has reversed.

The distinction between investment infrastructure and token-market prices is becoming increasingly important.

My near-term outlook depends on three developments:

  1. Bitcoin holding $80,000: A sustained break below this level would weaken the near-term outlook and increase the risk of selling across altcoins.
  2. Renewed institutional inflows: Positive ETF flows would help demonstrate that investors are accumulating rather than simply trading short-term rebounds.
  3. Improved relative strength in Ethereum and Solana: A broader recovery would be more convincing if these assets began outperforming Bitcoin.

The next Federal Reserve meeting on October 27–28 remains an important catalyst. Earnings reports, Treasury yields, oil prices, and developments in global liquidity will also influence market direction.

Support and Resistance Levels

CryptocurrencySupport ReferenceResistance Reference
Bitcoin$80,000 / $78,000$84,000 / $85,000
Ethereum$2,400 / $2,300$2,500 / $2,600
Solana$100 / $95$110 / $120
XRP$1.25 / $1.20$1.40 / $1.50
BNB$700 / $675$750 / $800
Cardano$0.21 / $0.20$0.24 / $0.25
Dogecoin$0.075 / $0.07$0.085 / $0.09
Hyperliquid$75 / $70$85 / $90

These are price-monitoring zones, not independently confirmed technical support or resistance levels. A successful retest and stronger trading activity would improve the reliability of any breakout.

GARCH Volatility Outlook — 90 Days

The near-term correction reinforces the importance of incorporating volatility into cryptocurrency investment decisions.

The ranges below are illustrative planning scenarios, not outputs from a newly fitted GARCH model. A true GARCH forecast would require refreshed historical daily returns, estimated volatility parameters, and defined probability intervals for each asset.

CryptocurrencyCurrent PriceIllustrative 90-Day RangeCentral ScenarioUpside Scenario
BTC$81,475$65,000–$103,000$85,000$110,000
ETH$2,433$1,800–$3,200$2,600$3,500
SOL$104.55$70–$150$115$170
XRP$1.31$0.90–$1.85$1.45$2.05
BNB$720.28$525–$950$775$1,050
ADA$0.2229$0.15–$0.33$0.25$0.40
DOGE$0.0803$0.05–$0.12$0.09$0.14
HYPE$79.80$50–$120$90$140

These scenarios illustrate potential investment outcomes rather than statistical confidence intervals or price predictions.

The difference between the lower and upper cases is substantial, particularly for smaller cryptocurrency assets. That reinforces the importance of position sizing and maintaining sufficient liquidity.

Long-Term View

I remain constructive on blockchain technologies that provide measurable improvements in financial services.

The strongest opportunities continue to involve institutional custody, stablecoin payments, tokenized financial assets, securities settlement, and decentralized trading platforms with sustainable revenue.

Bitcoin remains my preferred core digital asset. Ethereum and Solana offer exposure to expanding financial applications, while Hyperliquid represents a more speculative opportunity tied to decentralized trading.

However, expanding blockchain usage does not guarantee that every associated token will appreciate. The quality of the business model, token supply, liquidity, and value capture must all be considered.

GARCH (Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity) volatility model

The following charts present 6-month historical price trends for the top eight cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, SOL, LINK, XRP, BNB, ADA, and DOGE), using the GARCH (Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity) volatility model, which is commonly used in financial markets to capture the clustering nature of volatility—periods of high volatility tend to follow high volatility, and calm periods tend to persist. Using recent return data, the model projects expected volatility levels and translates them into forecast price bands with midpoint targets and potential highs under strong momentum scenarios. This is trial for the next 4 weeks and will be enhanced.
